Wolverine Vol.1 #12-16,In ancient times the foulest place on earth was Gehenna. situated just outside of Jerusalem, Gehenna was the charnal pit where the refuse was burned. A place of unspeakable evil, where in view of the holiest of cities people with blackened condemned souls committed hideous, unholy atrocities. Their leader was a man/demon called Ba'al. It's name meant Master. Ba'al led those loathsome beings in perverse rituals. The Lord was so disgusted that he sent a fierce warrior, he was only known as the hand of God. He was armed with unbreakle steel and divine right. He smote the deamon Ba'al, but his power went into a stone that his follers prepared for him. The hand of God took the stone and smashed it to pieces and hurled it into the four winds never to be assabled till doomsday.
