Epsilon Red was a genetically altered Russian Astronaut. Wolverine was sent to assassinate Epsilon Red, when Wolverine was a CIA operative. Wolverine's mission was cancelled and he never did the assassination. Wolverine returned to assassinate Epsilon Red, thinking he was in the past on his mission, but Epsilon Red and his daughter, Elana helped Wolverine regain his past memories, putting his mind back in the present. In return Wolverine helped Epsilon Red go into space where Epsilon Red felt at home.
