Elizabeth had spent some time in a institute after the mysterious death of her first child, John Jr. Elizabeth removed herself from her family after that and John was forces to hire Rose a cartaker for their other son, james. John removed Thomas Logan and his son Dog from his estate for being dangerous, Thomas Logan returned for Elizabeth Howlett, who he was having an affair with, but John Howlett caught Thomas before he could leave and Thomas shot and killed John in front of James eyes. James burst with anger and claws thrusted from his hand and he stabbed and killed Thomas Logan and slashed Dog across his face. Elizabeth rejected James as a freak and banished him from her side. Elizabeth took Thomas's shot gun and committed suicide.
