Northern Canadian Wilderness, Wolverine runs for hours through the woods and thinks about all the things that has happened in the past week. Wolverine has married Viper, which caused tension with the X-ladies and found out that his arch enemy Sabretooth has an adamantium skeleton and claws. Wolverine gets to a cliff and jumps off letting the trees branches below slow his fall. Finally, Logan finds what he was looking for, the Weapon X facility. Wolverine hopes to find some clues ho who to be the perfect weapon he used to be, so that he can be the best there is at that he does.

Dozen miles to the North, the creature known as Wendigo searches through the forest for its next kill, then the wind changes direction and Wendigo smells Wolverine's scent and charges toward the source.

Outside the Weapon X facility, Wolverine climbs the fence, and avoids the cameras and laser guns to get inside. Wolverine starts having flashbacks of being a pure savage animal, a weapon that they tried to control, the perfect living weapon. Wolverine locates a room where the cooling tanks were stored, the tanks that he was placed in during the actual adamantium bonding process. Wolverine thinks this is the place where Wolverine was born, and maybe with out his adamantium he isn't really Wolverine. Suddenly Wolverine senses vibrations and then a familiar scent, the wall explodes as Wendigo crashes through it. Wolverine thinks who he is going to beat Wendigo, when his claws haven’t frown back. Wendigo clashes Wolverine's back open, Wolverine punches Wendigo in the face, but Wendigo throws him into the wall. Wendigo charges at Wolverine and slams them both through the wall and land outside.

Several provinces away at Department H command, computers tell the personnel there that their is serious activity at the old Weapon X facility. They scan it for bio-signatures and realize that a Wendigo and their former Weapon X were there.

Outside the Weapon X facility, Wolverine tries to avoid the security lasers and Wendigo at the same time. Wolverine leaps over Wendigo, but Wendigo punches his claws into Wolverine's guts. Wolverine smashes through a window into the basement of the Weapon X facility. Wolverine's stomach is ripped open and he holds his guts in. Wolverine used an old Canadian flag to wrap around his wounds, so he could fight and not have to hold himself together. Wolverine decides that he needs an edge in the fight and hopes into a Hummer, rams it through a garage door and hits Wendigo with it, then crashes. Wolverine realizes that he is no longer the predator he once was, but he is the prey as Wendigo grabs Wolverine and squeezes the life out of Wolverine. Wolverine decides to use claws, even though they weren’t full length and slashes Wendigo across his face, Wendigo runs off in pain. Wolverine grabs his stomach in pain and collapses to the ground.
