In Madripoor Low town bar, Patch and Lindsey McCabe wait at the bar where Jessica is supposed to bring the sword to meet with the contact. After Lindsey gets drunk on the house special which is Patch's usual. Patch tells Lindsay to stay at the bar, she throws a fit but listens to him. Patch goes up stairs to check things out. When the smell of death comes over him. Patch opens a door and everybody in the room has been slaughtered by someone using the Dai-katana. Patch sees that someone hiding in the shadows. The wall explodes behind Patch, Silver Samurai comes through and tells Patch not to get involved in his business. Patch and Silver Samurai battle it out, but are interrupted by Jessica Drew, who has been consumed by the soul-corrupting sword. She calls herself the mistress of the black blade. The battle between all three crashes downstairs. Patch uses his claws and cuts through a wall, the building collapses.

Silver Samurai is stuck under a beam from the ceiling. Lindsay takes his sword and frees the Silver Samurai. The Mistress takes off with the sword, Patch follows her.

Rooftop to rooftop, Patch and the mistress fight. Patch grabs the sword out of her hands. just before Patch kills her, the black blade senses Patch's warrior-spirit and consumes Patch's soul. Now Patch has been corrupted he calls himself the Master of the black blade. Silver Samurai and Lindsey watch in horror, can they stop the Master of the black blade?
