Inside the Soviet Space Center, Epsilon Red breaks down the steel door and recognizes Wolverine, but Wolverine doesn’t remember him. Epsilon Red wraps his tentacles around Wolverine, but Wolverine cuts through them. Epsilon Red runs inside the building and Wolverine follows.

Inside the building, Wolverine catches up and they begin to fight, Wolverine has a flashback.

In the flashback, Wolverine slashes at Epsilon Red, but his pregnant wife jump in the way and gets slashed, but its just a flesh wound, Epsilon Red takes off his armor, he starts to swell. Epsilon Red's wife explains that the Russians engineered Epsilon Red to live in space and was going to be the first astronaut on the moon, and that’s why Wolverine is there to kill him. Epsilon Red tells Wolverine to leave his pregnant wife alone and kill him so he could finish his mission. Wolverine stops fighting and comes out of his flashback.

Back in the present, Wolverine ask what’s going on. Epsilon Red explains that Wolverine was remembering the past and that the government that wanted him dead years ago tampered with Wolverine's mind. Wolverine ask how he knew about his memory. Epsilon Red explains that he has Psi-powers and see into his mind and tells Wolverine that in 1969 Neil Armstrong walked on the moon and Epsilon Red's mission was cancelled after that. Epsilon Red believes that Logan is in a time/slip, and offers to help Logan restore his mind and at the same time learn more about himself.

Somewhere over Russia, Jubilee, Colossus, Psylocke, Cyclops, and Iceman are on the Blackbird bound for the space station in Russia.

Inside the building, Epsilon Red probes Wolverine's mind and tells him that he has false memory implants and total blocks, and that he has permanent scarring of some of his memories. Epsilon Red shows Wolverine what happened all the years ago on his mission in a flashback.

In the flashback, Logan was close to killing Epsilon Red, when Sabretooth bursts in. Sabretooth immediately tells Logan that their mission has been cancelled, and that Epsilon Red was to be left alive. Logan immediately leaves while Sabretooth covers for him.

Back in the present, Epsilon Red tells Wolverine that some of his memories have been erased, and that there were some blocks that he can't be removed with out Wolverine going insane. Epsilon Red tells Wolverine sorry because their were blocks that he couldn't remove. Wolverine thanks him, and tells him that he has shown him more then anyone ever has. Wolverine asks if there was anything he could do for him. Epsilon Red wishes to go into space where his body feels at home, and where he can survive and be free. Suddenly, a security team breaks in and tries to apprehend them, but Wolverine easily takes them out. Wolverine help Epsilon Red board into a space shuttle.

Outside the Soviet Space Center, Wolverine watches the shuttle take off. The X-Men arrives on the Blackbird, and finds Wolverine. Jubilee hugs Wolverine, happy to see him safe, they decide to stop by Colossus’s home, Siberia one the way home.

Tyuratam Mission Control Room, Direktor asks Elena why she pretended that her father had the Psi-powers, when it was really her that has them. Elana Ivanovna responds that while she help Wolverine remember some of his past, she looked for clues to find Sabretooth, because after Logan escaped all those years ago, Sabretooth had stayed behind for a moment, and shot and killed her mother, forcing Elena to be born by C-section. Elana has an idea where Sabretooth is and is going to make him pay for the death of her mother.
