Dramatic success in machine learning has led to a torrent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications. This iteration of the technology is so good; it’s nearly impossible to tell what’s AI generated and what voice is human generated The algorithm has learned how to pronounce challenging words and names that would have been a tell-tale sign of a machine as well as how to better enunciate words.

In addition, firms will need to reskill their current workforces to acquire the necessary capabilities to thrive in the digital age and provide training in necessary concepts, such as machine learning algorithms. Each of these sets of technologies (they are not things either but just as AI consist of several technologies and, more importantly, applications and consequences) are technological drivers of digital transformation as such.

However, the long-term goal of many researchers is to create general AI (AGI or strong AI) While narrow AI may outperform humans at whatever its specific task is, like playing chess or solving equations, AGI would outperform humans at nearly every cognitive task.

Today, artificial intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of financial industry disruption, allowing these firms to look differently at operations, staffing, processes, and the way work is done in a human-machine partnership. Just as in other segments of the economy where AI is or will change the human workforce to work more in conjunction with the technology, teachers too will adjust to this working pattern.

Everything we love about civilization is a product of intelligence, so amplifying our human intelligence with artificial intelligence has the potential of helping civilization flourish like never before – as long as we manage to keep the technology beneficial. Rather than conclude from this lack of generality that low-level AI and piecemeal high-level AI are not real intelligence, it would perhaps be better to conclude that low-level AI (like intelligence in lower life-forms) and piecemeal high-level abilities (like those of human idiot savants”) are genuine intelligence, albeit piecemeal and low-level.

Because cognitive technologies typically support individual tasks rather than entire processes, scale-up almost always requires integration with existing systems and processes. The European Commission and the Member States published a Coordinated action plan on the development of AI in the EU on 7th December 2018 in order to promote the development of artificial intelligence ( AI ) in Europe.

Along with robotics (and phenomena such as 3D printing, the Internet of Things, etc.), artificial intelligence is again an increasingly debated topic. To understand the role and current wave of AI in today’s and tomorrow’s business and society context it’s important to look at the realities and technologies underneath the big overlapping umbrella term.
